Step right up, ladies and gentlemen! Witness the transformation before your very eyes from our very own charming mocktail recipe of a century. But beware – our mocktail is the ultimate master of disguise. One moment, you will notice our mocktail turn from a sapphire blue into a vibrant magenta with one singular lemon. Next, you will start to believe in magic after sipping our beverage because we won’t be changing your drink with sleight-of-hand magic tricks. Instead, our mocktail will be slowly metamorphosing from a refreshing tarty yet woody beverage into a citrusy, summery drink with our magical ice cubes featuring The Plug Drink. Are you ready for the greatest transformation of a lifetime? We present the great impersonator of the century: Halsey’s For My Last Trick Tour-inspired mocktail!

In 2024 Halsey released her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, based on impersonating different icons throughout the decades. To promote the album release, Halsey impersonated David Bowie, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, Stevie Nicks, Cher, and many more with grand costume designs and makeup skills to showcase how each musician inspired a song within The Great Impersonator. The album itself takes place across many genres from different eras. The tracklist explores folk, alternative rock, and pop music and pairs with the most heartwrenching lyricism and nostalgic melodies. One moment you will be taken back to a Bruce Springsteen concert in the 80s then belting to the top of your lungs with a 90s Evanescence-inspired song. Halsey’s album is a true time machine that captures each inspirational artist’s music and lyricism style, resulting in you tapping your foot to the rhythm for each song. Don’t believe us? After you listen to the album, you will experience a blast from the past that will boost your mood and mental health (1). But how did Halsey do it? Let’s travel back in time to understand the benefits of listening to nostalgic music based on her latest album.

According to Psychology Today, nostalgia refers to memories from your childhood and/or early adulthood that are attached to strong emotions during certain significant life events (2). These important life events can be revisited by triggering your brain to recall the moments with a location, item, or even a song. For instance, music can unlock a deeply nostalgic emotional experience if the song was previously played at a family celebration, wedding, graduation, vacation, and much more. But how can the memories of nostalgia improve your well-being?

You might not have realized it, but the music from your teenage years and early 20s holds your strongest emotional memories. That music-evoked nostalgia is connected with youthful memories to help relieve stress and boost your mood whenever you listen to certain melodies (2). That’s why Halsey’s album is the perfect way to experience nostalgia! If you want to revisit a moment of discovering the confusing emotion called love, try listening to the country-influenced ‘70s track, “Panic Attack”, where you can dive deep into recalling the memory of not fully knowing if this new feeling is love or a panic attack due to how much your crush is making you nervous whenever you see them. How about traveling back to a time when technology and social media were on the rise? Next up on the queue, play Halsey’s cover of Britney Spears’ “Lucky” to experience a carefree childhood and/or teenhood where you would jump on your bed while singing along to 2000s music with a hairbrush in hand (aka your microphone) before heading out.

Just like the iconic concept of The Great Impersonator, what if Halsey was the inspiration for a mocktail? Our beverage, inspired by Halsey’s current tour For My Last Trick, can help transform your current health for the better – similar to how it metamorphoses as you recreate the recipe! Our mocktail contains beneficial ingredients from butterfly pea flower to raspberry to grapefruit – all of which we like to call our opening acts. Let’s introduce our first act: butterfly pea flowers!

Butterfly pea flowers are vibrant blue flowers that effectively increase skin hydration by 70% through topical application (3). They can also promote hair health and may aid in weight loss as well due to ternatins, which may slow down the formation of fat cells (3). What an act, right? Now put your hands together for our amazing second act: raspberry!

This sweet yet tarty fruit contains tons of fiber and low amounts of sugar to help lower blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure (4). The dazzling red fruit also has a sweet taste to help reduce your craving for sweets, which aids in weight loss and blood sugar management (4). After a couple of bites, the raspberries' antioxidant properties help protect cells from damage by free radicals (4). The high levels of these antioxidants stabilize unstable atoms (known as free radicals) that attempt to harm your cells. By doing so, these berries can help prevent heart diseases, cancer, and many other conditions (4). What a wonderful second act! But now, let’s give it up for the final opening act of the night before we witness our special guest perform; you don’t want to miss it!

We wanna hear you scream for our marvelous third act: grapefruit! This nutritious citrus fruit has a sweet yet sour taste and contains tons of vitamins A and C. With these vitamins acting as backup singers, they help support your immune system and maintain peak immune function (5). But this fruit doesn’t stop there – grapefruit contains citrate (the ester of citric acid), which can help reduce the risk of developing kidney stones (5). But don’t fall head over heels just yet! It's time to reveal our special guest of the night. You may know them as the main ingredient for our magical ice cubes, but tonight you will acknowledge them as your liver’s sidekick!

The one, the only magnificent first plant-based recovery beverage: The Plug Drink! Our clinically backed, all-natural liver health support drink optimizes your liver and body back to their healthiest states. From rapidly hydrating your system to boosting your energy levels, The Plug Drink focuses on upgrading your lifestyle wherever you go – especially for any upcoming concerts! This mesmerizing drink contains plant-based ingredients handpicked from South Korea to improve your liver health and so much more.

Listen closely: ginger carries antioxidants that fight off free radicals and reduce inflammation to get you looking fantastic in your concert fit (6). Now what about the liver? Schisandra can help fight against liver disease, specifically hepatitis, due to a compound extracted from the plant (7). In addition, dihydromyricetin (DHM) is a flavonoid derived from the fruit of the oriental raisin tree that is reported to protect against liver disease and work to restore liver function (8). Encore, encore, encore! Your liver’s sidekick also has electrolytes, which balance the amount of water in your body and produce enough energy for you to sing Halsey’s entire setlist. Now for the moment you all have been waiting for… introducing our Great Impersonating Mocktail!

Ingredients:

● ½ cup dried butterfly pea flowers or 1 butterfly pea flower tea bag

● ¼ cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed

● 1 bottle of The Plug Drink

● 3 sprigs of rosemary

● 1 sprig of mint

● 11 red raspberries

● 1 grapefruit

Magical Ice Cubes Directions:

It’s time to pull out a brand new bag of tricks! But before you plan your outfit for the tour, let’s create the magical ice cubes 3 to 4 hours before heading out the door.

Step 1: Wash your rosemary stems, raspberries, and grapefruit properly. After the fruits and herbs are dry, cut the grapefruit into thin slices and chop them into small pieces to fit into the ice tray.

Step 2: Pluck the leaves from the rosemary stalks and distribute the leaves evenly into 11 tiny ice cube molds. Place 1 to 2 slices of grapefruit and 1 raspberry per cube with the rosemary leaves while humming to the melody of “Ego”.

Step 3: Carefully pour a bottle of The Plug Drink into each ice cube mold. Gently carry the tray in the freezer and let the magical ice cubes freeze for 3 to 4 hours.

The Great Impersonating Mocktail Directions:

After you perfectly planned out your concert outfit, you need to start creating a drink inspired by the tour to take on the go for you and your friends. As you get ready for the concert, let’s magically assemble the magnificent metamorphosis mocktail. Don’t blink, or you’ll miss it!

Step 1: Steep 1/2 cup of dried butterfly pea flowers for 10 minutes or steep 1 tea bag of butterfly pea flowers for 4 minutes. Then let the sapphire blue tea cool for 5 to 30 minutes.

Step 2: Wash the lemon and mint stems properly as the tea cools down. After the ingredients are dry, freshly squeeze a lemon into a separate cup.

Step 3: Once the butterfly pea flower tea is completely cool, pour it into your desired glassware. Carefully add your magical ice cubes and mint stem to the tall glass. Then, gently top off the drink with lemon juice and witness the mocktail’s transformation.

Optional Step: Before we close the curtains, take a photo or video of you creating the great impersonating mocktail and share it on Instagram and/or TikTok. Post your creation with a song from Halsey’s latest album playing in the background and tag us @theplugdrink. We want to see you believe in magic for the very first time!
